Unconcerned, Bluey finished the hole and wrote his score in 16! Despite this minor set-back, there was no wrestling the whacker of the day from JR who balanced things evenly with 18 points for 18 holes in a fine display. Everyone enjoyed and we look forward to next year's event.

That was a team total of 382, and MDD now lead the Ngaruawahia team by 10 shots, with the final round to place at the St Andrews Golf Course, in Hamilton, on the 8 th of May.
Meanwhile, our 11-year-old star, Jack Trower, represented the Waikato in the Junior Tiger Nationals, at the Manawatu Golf Club in Palmerston North on Sunday, after winning the regional tournament in Hamilton on 27 March. Jack shot a fantastic 38, off 9-holes, to finish a very credible 2 nd place in the 11 and under boy's division. An outstanding result for Jack, and one we are all, very proud of. Well done Jack, from all of us!
Saturday 2nd April was round 2 of the Mel Loveridge Memorial. A full field turned out and some superb matches took place, with some phenomenal scoring into the bargain.
This Saturday's draw follows, but to the scramble of the day and eleven-year-old Jack Trower broke 80 for the first time, posting an incredulous 79 off his 20 handicap for a net 59, and amassing 48 stablefords to win the week's Robert Harris Golfer of the Week, claim the Challenge card voucher and three balls. Any other day Justin Read's 46 points would've been a shoe-in, but as it was, three balls were the reward. The Sen Sushi voucher was claimed by Mike Simpson and the whacker this week was Tom Lunam, though I don't believe he 6-putted the 18 th !!
